It has been a very busy week of learning at nursery this week!
On Monday we had a magnificent firework display at nursery. The children loved the different colours of the sparkles and asked lots of questions about fireworks and the related traditional bonfire night. They also painted their own fireworks!
In the Maths room we celebrated Teddy's 5th Birthday, preparing different shaped sandwiches, baking cupcakes and measuring ingredients for a Victoria sponge cake! The children counted candles and balloons and looked at different 2D shapes. They also counted cups and plates and cutlery to set up the table for our fantastic birthday party!
In the Expressive Art and Design area the children were very engaged in building towers using different materials and decorating tea biscuits with red icing in the form of poppies for the centennial Remembrance Day on 11th November 2018.
Friday we had a fantastic day out: we went to visit the Tower of London. All the parents were involved and spent an amazing day out with their children. The children were very interested in the Crown jewels and the ravens. They loved exploring the different towers and looking at the knights’ armours.
We are excited to announce that we are going to be publishing a regular News Blog.
Regular posts will share the learning activities, trips and visits that we have been enjoying in the Nursery and beyond.
We are hoping to post at least once every two weeks, but it might take us some time to get up to speed. Keep checking back for more news.
